To obtain the sword you will need Return to Ostagar DLC. The sword can be found in Cailan's Chest in the main camp.

Maric's Blade - Notes

• The blade is well suited for builds that use many sustained abilities. The increased stamina regeneration can counteract their effects
• It seems that weakens darkspawn bonus has no effect
• To upgrade the blade tier you can put it in Party Storage and leave the area for a while.
• Another option for upgrading: you can also sell it to Mikhael Dryden and come back to the area and buy it back.
