Rathalos - a Large Monster that you will encounter in Monster Hunter Rise (MHR). These types of monsters are usually the main targets for hunt quests. They reward with crafting materials for armors and weapons.

Rathalos - Characteristics

Rathalos will descend on invaders. usually, they are centered around their nests. He is called King of the skies

  • Longest/Largest: 1738.3

Rathalos - Combat Guide

Recommended equipment and loadout

  • Fire Resistance gear and decorations (especially in a few first fights)
  • Nulberries (not mandatory as you can roll to remove fireblight)
  • Antidotes or Herbal Medicine
  • Flash Bombs

Strategy

As expected from King of the sky there are numerous things to have in mind in its fight:

  • For most of the fight, he will stay in the air. Flash Bombs can be used to take him down, but only a few times.
  • He will use many more Fire breath attacks compared to Rathian
  • Use Wirebug to do Aerial attacks. As Rathalos will be airborne most of the time

Signature Fire Breath attack

He will do a wide sweep fire breath attack. You will hear the hunter shouting out before it is activated. So hunters should be ready to avoid it and just run or superman dive to the side. Not back or front

Poison fangs

Rathalos will be attacking with poison claws. Opposite to Rathian Tail which was a poison source with it
