Ostagar Checklist - what to do before leaving - Dragon Age: Origins (DAO)
Ostagar is quite an important part of the early game. You can collect some valuable items and gold that will be useful later on. Moreover, most of the things that you miss here will not be obtainable later.
No need to log in to tick the items, the completed checkmarks will persist on the same browser.
Ostagar Checklist
Before Entering Korcari Wilds

| Purchase Backpack 1 | This needs to be purchased from Quartermaster before embarking into Korcari Wilds. Sell a few items to collect the required coins. | |
| Obtain the Key to the Mages' Chest | This can be received from the Prisoner in the camp. He is located in hanging care close to the Infirmary. | |
| Pick quest The Mabari Hound | This is available from the Kennel Master. | |
| Obtain Ser Garlen's Sword | Find an elf named Pick, from whom you can obtain the sword. It's a red-haired male elf running around the camp - Ash Warrior Leader, Loghain's Tent, King Cailans Tent, etc. |
Korcari Wilds

| A Pinch of Ashes (unmarked quest) | Loot Ashes and a book from Dead Soldier. Read the Codex entry and it will direct you to a location where you can summon Gazarath. | |
| The Missionary Side Quest | Activate by interacting with a dead monk's body in the River. Find the chest protected by wolves. | |
| Chasind Trail Signs side quest | Find all locations throughout the map to reveal the secret cache. | |
| Initiate quest - Last Will and Testament | Find the corpse of Missionary Rigby and pick up the chest from a hidden location at a campfire. | |
| Pick Wilds Flower | Will activate The Mabari Hound quest if it has not been picked. You can then bring the flower to the Kennel Master, after returning. |
After Returning Korcari Wilds - Before the Ritual

| Unlock Mage chest or delay for later | Use the key that you obtained from the Prisoner and unlock the chest. However, you can delay the chest unlock for Return to Ostagar DLC for powerful staff. | |
