Nintendo Direct 2024 Overview: Exciting New Games and Announcements

Nintendo Direct has become a significant event in the gaming industry. This year’s Nintendo Direct took place on June 18 on the YouTube platform. Let’s take a look at what news and games the event has brought us this summer.

Nintendo Switch successor

Although many people were expecting the announcement of the Nintendo Switch successor, there were no mentions of it. But back in May, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa did stated in a post on X, “We will make an announcement about the successor to the Nintendo Switch within this fiscal year.”

1. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Eternity

Probably the most exciting announcement was "The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Eternity." This entirely new addition to one of the most beloved and celebrated franchises in the gaming industry will star Princess Zelda as the protagonist.

Unlike Link, Zelda won't fight with a sword, but with a new weapon, a mysterious staff called the TR rod. This rod can create an imitation of an object and then you can recreate the objects whenever you'd like. This new play style, in my opinion, will be an enjoyable and thrilling experience, providing a refreshing change.

2. Mario & Luigi: Brothership

Another highlight of the Nintendo Direct was the announcement of "Mario & Luigi: Brothership." This RPG adventure game is the first new entry in the Mario and Luigi Series in 9 years.

The game will have a unique storyline that involves them sailing a ship, exploring uncharted waters, and visiting remote islands. With its charming graphics and humorous dialogue, "Mario & Luigi: Brothership" promises to be a delightful addition to the series.

Release date: November 7^th, 2024.

3. Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game

If you’re a fan of Lord of the Rings books or cute and cozy games, this life-sim farming game is for you. The key features of this game include fishing, farming, and foraging for food, as well as exploring the Bywaters to find their many treasures. You can also create your own personalized Hobbit character, decorate your own Hobbit home, and meet iconic characters from the books.

Personally, this game seems incredibly adorable and fun, especially if you enjoy games in this genre and are a fan of the book series. Furthermore, with so many features, the gameplay will be incredibly enjoyable.

Release date: Holiday 2024.
