Apex Diablos: How to Beat, Weakness and Drops

Apex Diablos - a Large Monster that you will encounter in Monster Hunter Rise (MHR). These types of monsters are usually the main targets for hunt quests. They reward with crafting materials for armors and weapons.

Rampage Strategy

If you are fairly new to Rampages I recommend reading this guide on Rampage basics

As with most Apex monsters, it all comes down to how many resources you and your hunter group can save before the last gate.

However, if you are well versed with your weapon, just using concentrated attacks during Counter Signal should be enough

Here are a few recommendations on how to deal with Apex Diablos:

Use limited installations

I recommend saving up limited installations for the last gate when Apex Diablos appears.

In the image above I save Yomogi for the encounter with the Apex monster. She boosts other installation's damage. I also recommend saving up Elder Fugen as he can single-handedly destroy any Apex monster minions

Utilize Wyvern Riding

Wyvern Riding is a great way to stunlock the Apex Diablos. This way it will not attack the gate:

Moreover, if the monster you are riding can apply blights use that to your advantage. Every elemental blight helps here

During Counter Signal use your weapon attacks

When Counter Singal activates, it is better to use your own weapon.

Your weapon damage multiplies. However, installations like machine cannon still deal the same damage.

Splitting Wyvernshot during charging attack

When Diablos will run away from the gate to charge its main attack this will be your chance. Run to Wyvernshot installation and target Diablos with it. This is the best chance to use it as the monster will be stationary at that time

Moreover, if enough damage is health it may cancel the charge attack and create an opening for players to attack.

Ailments vulnerabilities
