Best Ninja builds - Stealth Assassin (Patch 1.63) - Cyberpunk 2077
In this post, I will go into great detail on how to create the Ultimate Ninja build in Cyberpunk 2077.
This type of build mainly relies on stealth to carry out its tasks. Of course, when there is a need for direct encounters there will be options to handle those situations
So let us start
Contents
Ninja Build
This is more of a traditional build that purely relies on physical prowess and intelligence. You will be skipping on any Quickhacks usage. However, you will be using Throwing Knives to take out enemies from the distance.
If you won't kill the enemy with it poison will take care of it.
If it comes to worst, you will have a katana (or any other blade-type melee weapon) by your side to slash enemies into pieces.
Not only this but you will have time slowing abilities at your disposal, to make sneaking and direct encounters very easy,
Attributes
In this section, I will go through recommended attributes and how you should progress with them. Picking the correct ones will ensure that you have sufficient stats to kill enemies.
Starting the game
Here are the starting attributes that I recommend:
- Cool +3
- Body +1
- Reflexes +3
Progression
Here is how I recommend allocating attribute points as you progress through the game:
- Cool +2. Prioritize this one, as it will greatly improve your overall effectiveness when in stealth. Best to get it maximum early as possible.
- Technical Ability +2 - this will allow you to craft some good gear. I recommend investing a decent amount into it as this will greatly improve your overall damage and survivability due to better armors.
- Reflexes +1. This stat improves your katana and knives damage
- Body +1. Improves overall survivability, and melee damage.
At the maximum level of 50 here is what you should have:
- Cool - 20
- Technical Ability - 18
- Reflexes - 18
- Body - 12
Perks
In this section let's go through how to allocate your perk points as you progress through the game. They are very important as they give improvements to current actions and give new gameplay options.
Blade tree
Reflex Level | Skill | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | Sting Like a Bee x3 | Increases attack speed by 30%. It will ensure that you have very fast attacks to take out enemies as fast as possible. |
1 | Roaring Waters | Gives a 10% increase to Strong attacks. You will probably not use them as often with this type of build. So we only put one point |
4 | Slow and Steady x2 | As the build is prone to enemy shots, having increased armor by 30% while moving is essential not to die instantly |
4 | Crimson Dance x2 (Optional) | Gives a 30% chance to apply Bleed. Although it does not deal massive damage it will provide other benefits later on |
6 | Flight of the Sparrow x2 | Reduces the Stamina cost of all attacks with Knife or Katana by 50%. Especially early you don't want to drain your stamina bar and get fatigued. |
8 | Shifting Sands | Another great ability that will restore a portion of stamina when you dodge. It will ensure that you do not run out of it. |
10 | Blessed Blade | Gives a flat 10% critical chance. Very good for this Ninja Build as it ensures more critical hits. |
12 | Bloodlust x2 (Optional) | This ability complements Crimson Dance and gives health regeneration when the enemy is Bleeding. I think it is optional as it may be great in the mid-game but becomes useless later on. |
12 | Float Like A Butterfly x2 | Dodging will give 50% more damage for 5 seconds. Very high increase for something that you will constantly activate Kerenzikov or dodge enemies |
15 | Judge, Jury and Executioner x3 | Huge damage boost on the first hit to the enemy. Your knives will be much deadlier |
15 | Fiery Blast x3 | Very strong perk. It gives a bonus of 3% damage for every 1% health the enemy is missing. It will be useful in drawn-out fights when you switch to Katana |
18 | Deathbolt | This is an ability that you need for encounters with many enemies. Each enemy that you kill will restore your health by 20% and increase the movement speed by 30% for 5 seconds. |
Athletics Tree
Level | Skill | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | Pack Mule | This is a quality of life ability that gives 60 points more carrying weight. I think it helps very early in the game when you need money fast. |
1 | Regeneration | Allows regenerating health during combat. It is very useful for this Ninja build as you wait behind the cover for the enemy to come to you |
5 | True Grit | Increases stamina by 10% allowing to do more hits |
7 | Epimorphosis | Increases the threshold to which HP regenerates during combat. Moreover, HP now regenerates to 100% outside of it. |
7 | Wolverine x2 | Health regeneration will now activate 40% faster. This will make long encounters easier to survive |
9 | Steel and Chrome x2 | Increases melee damage by 20%. Not as useful for Throwing Knife ability but still good for katanas. |
11 | Like a Butterfly | Dodging will now not drain stamina. This will allow to better fight during long encounters |
12 | Invincible | As powerful as it sounds this ability only provides 15% health. However, that is still a good boost for overall survivability |
12 | Tenacious V | Health regeneration now continues even after being hit |
Crafting Tree
Level | Skill | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | Mechanic | Get more components when disassembling. Useful for crafting good gear |
5 | True Craftsman | Allows to craft Rare items |
5 | Scrapper | Automatically disassembles junk items. Great quality of life perk |
11 | Field Technician | Increases damage of crafted weapons by 10%. This will make your knives or katanas much stronger |
12 | Grease Monkey | Allows to craft Epic items |
14 | Let There Be Light! | Upgrading is now cheaper by 20% |
16 | Tune-up | You can now increase the quality of your components. |
18 | Edgerunner Artisan | Allows crafting legendary items. Have in mind that I also recommend having a Crafting level at 12. This way you unlock many legendary Crafting specs. |
Ninjutsu Tree
This is a very important perk tree for ninja build. It enables knife throwing, poisoning and many other improvements.
Level | Skill | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | Crouching Tiger | Gives 20% faster movement speed while sneaking |
5 | Dagger Dealer | Enables knife throwing. The Knife that you wear can be thrown by aiming. |
7 | Assassin | Deals 15% more damage to humans. Almost all the enemies that you will fight will be humans, so the choice is obvious |
7 | Strike from the Shadows | Increases Critical Chance by 7% while sneaking. You will have a higher chance to do a critical hit on the first strike before the enemy spots you. |
7 | Leg Up (optional) | I personally prefer to use takedowns, especially early in the game. However, if you feel that you do not use them, pass up this ability |
9 | Sniper | Increases headshot damage by 20% outside combat. As you will use your knives when sneaking, this is a perfect ability to greatly increase Knife Throwing damage. |
9 | Cutthroat | I put only one point here. My main reason being is that usually, not many enemies will survive the knife to the head. However, it is very useful in boss fights when you switch to a large weapon. |
12 | From the Shadows x2 | Provides a 20% bonus critical chance for the first 7 seconds of the combat. |
12 | Ghost x2 | Increases the detection time before the enemy spots you by 40% |
14 | Venomous Fangs | All knives will apply poison. This is a very powerful ability as it will take care of weaker enemies if you miss the enemy's head when throwing a knife. |
14 | Looking Sharp | Another decent ability is that will blind the target if it does not die after the knife hits the head. |
16 | Juggler | Thanks to this perk, the ninja build improves by a large margin. It allows to instantly restore a knife it throwing it results in enemy death or critical hit. |
16 | Hasty Retreat | Gives a 50% boost after being detected for 5 seconds. Thanks to this ability you can run around very fast and take out a few enemies before your take damage |
18 | Cheat Death | Reduces damage by 50% when health drops below 50% for 10 seconds. The ultimate survivability perk. |
20 | Toxicology | Increases the poison duration, great on boss enemies. |
Cool Blood
Level | Skill | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | Cold Blood x3 | This is a very important buff for almost any stat in the game. Although at first, it provides only faster movement speed, as you progress it will provide other benefits. I suggest upgrading this ability every 5 levels and not putting all 3 points at the start of the game |
5 | Will to Survive (optional) | Increases Resistances by 3%. Good for an early Game. However, later on, should be swapped for Immunity |
5 | Blood Brawl x2 | Melee damage is increased by 10% while Cold Blood is active |
9 | Defensive Clotting | Each stack of Cold Blood increases armor by 8% |
11 | Collagulant | Stack of Col Blood are removed one by one instead of all at once |
11 | Frozen Precision | Each stack of Cold BLood now increases headshot damage by 5%. Perfect choice for Knife Throwing on this Ninja build |
12 | Predator x2 | Each stack of Cold Blood increases attack speed by 30% |
14 | Pain is an Illusion | Reduces damage taken by 5% while Cold Blood is active |
14 | Cold and Calculating | Critical hits can now also add a stack of Cold Blood |
16 | Coldest Blood x2 | Increases Cold Blood stack by 2 |
16 | Critical Condition x2 | Cold Blood will have its duration increased by 50%. Ensures that you can still maintain the buffs even after hiding from the enemy. |
18 | Immunity | Makes you immune to Bleeding, Poison, Burn, and Shock. Makes Will to Survive obsolete |
20 | Bloodswell | Rather than dying, all Cold Blood stacks will be removed and you will Damage Immunity for 5 seconds. This can happen only once per 15 seconds. |
20 | Merciless | While Cold Blood is active Crit Chance is increased by 5% and Crit Damage is increased by 25% |
Build tactics
- Do not sell low-quality components as you will upgrade them to better ones using the Tune-up perk
- You can use the Throwing Knife to take out cameras
- Practice hitting enemy heads for headshots. This will deal massive damage
- You can use Sandevistan both for melee combat with Katana and for Throwing Knives. The slowed time takes the enemy longer to detect you and you can use that time to aim with your knife.
- The build is fragile and on Very Hard difficulty, you will die from a few shots. Learn to hide and use Kerenzikov and Sandevistan often.
- Grenades are also your friend. Even though you do not have relevant abilities for them they can knockout enemies giving you time to take out other enemies.
Equipment recommendations
Weapons for Ninja build
Knives are important as you will use them for throwing:
Priority | Item | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | Blue Fang |
An iconic knife that has a unique effect. It stuns enemies on hit with different amounts of delay. |
2 | Headhunter |

3 | Stinger | An iconic knife that deals additional chemical damage |
4 | Tanto | Not better than Knife. However, I think it fits better thematically. |
5 | Knife | A simple version that you will obtain various rarities throughout the game. Try to craft or buy the highest one |
Katanas will be used in melee combat:
Priority | Item | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | Byakko | The katana was introduced in the 1.5 patch. It is not special by damage but it has a special ability allowing it to jump large distances to the targeted enemy. |

1 | Reinforced Tendons | My personal favorite makes traversing much easier. |
Cyber Ninja Build
This try was a bit more complex as Cyber Ninja in my opinion has to incorporate quickhacks. What should I offer and how should I incorporate everything to make it a feasible build?
The Cyber Ninja build concentrates on using throwing knives and if it comes to worst - katanas. However, we now use quickhacking as another tool in our arsenal. It can be both used offensively and defensively.
This opens up opportunities, where we can blind enemies, and use that time to take out other enemies. With good gear you can even take out enemies with Short Circuit quickhack instantly
Or, my favorite - poison a whole group of enemies and finish them off with your throwing knives from the distance.
The Cyber Ninja does not rely too much on quickhacks as his main weapon of choice is still Throwing Knives.
Attributes
In this section, I will go through recommended attributes and how you should progress with them. Picking the correct ones will ensure that you have sufficient stats to kill enemies.
Starting the game
Here are the starting attributes that I recommend:
- Intelligence +2
- Cool +3
- Body +2
We want a healthy mix of all attributes. Of course, we will mainly concentrate on being effective at stealth
Progression
Here is how I recommend allocating attribute points as you progress through the game:
- Cool +2.
- Intelligence +2 - this will allow you to craft some good gear. I recommend investing a decent amount into it as this will greatly improve your overall damage and survivability due to better armors.
- Reflexes +1. This stat improves your katana and knives damage
- Body +1. Improves overall survivability, and melee damage.
At the maximum level of 50 here is what you should have:
- Reflexes 20
- Body 13. I suggest having it this high for a few reasons: you need decent survivability and you will also want to open some locked doors or be able to steal any car.
- Cool 20
- Intelligence 15. This is very important. It will give a boost to quickhacks, and also unlock strong Cyberware to increase offensive stats.
Alternative: You can definitely try going for 16 Intelligence and reducing Reflexes to 18 or Body to 12. This will open Epic quickhacking crafting and allows them to deal critical hits. So decide based on your playstyle
Perks
In this section let's go through how to allocate your perk points as you progress through the game. They are very important as they give improvements to current actions and give new gameplay options.
Have in mind the Cyber Ninja build requires more perk points compared to the normal ninja build
Blade tree

---|---|---|
1 | Sting Like a Bee x3 | Increases attack speed by 30%. It will ensure that you have very fast attacks to take out enemies as fast as possible. |
4 | Slow and Steady x2 | As the build is prone to enemy shots, having increased armor by 30% while moving is essential not to die instantly |

Build Tactics
- Craft Rare quickhacks when you can
- Grenades are still useful when you are detected and all hell breaks loose. So always carry a few of them
- Do not rely on open combat and concentrate on stealth. Run behind enemies, and use quickhacks to make them blind. Throw blades to quickly dispose of cameras. There are many approaches that you can use with this build

Conclusion
Thank you for reading the Best Ninja builds for Cyberpunk 2077. I covered two distinct playstyles. One is more of a traditional Ninja approach, where you use stealth, throwing blades, and occasional melee to deal with enemies.
Another option is a modern approach, where we add quickhacks into the mix. Pick your preferred playstyle and try out the build!
